Overnight oats - iced coffee flavor

Hello there,

It has been a hot minute! To be quite frank, the clock is ticking and I find it very hard to free up some time for the blog. Between my 24/7 job, nutrition, Insta, and social life, you name it. However, this channel remains my favorite way to share with you, but not gonna lie it's not the most popular one. I just have to set my priorities.

Anyway, let's cut to the chase. I may not be super consistent with the blog, but I clearly am when it comes to finding new and healthy recipes and today's one is my so-called "healthy iced coffee overnight oats.

Overnight oats: nutritional facts

Depending on what you fill your overnight oats with, this breakfast recipe can be a very healthy option to kick-start the day. In this iced coffee version, you'll nourish your body with:

  • 8g of fats: the main role of fats consists of actively contributing to the composition of our cellular membranes. They're therefore quite important.

  • 43g of carbs: carbs are our main source of energy. They can be stored by the liver or the muscles or immediately used by our cells. Carbs can also take part in the synthesis of proteins & fats.

  • 24g of proteins: proteins are the raw materials of our organic systems (cardiovascular systeme, digestive system, respiratory system, etc). They also intervene in the composition of tissues/muscles.

  • 12g of fibers: fibers help regulate glycemic index, feed good bacteria present in our little intestine to ensure our intesstinal microbiome stability and well-being. Fibers are essential and should not be neglected.

Recipe

For one serving:

  • 40g of oats

  • 100ml almond milk (or other vegetal milk)

  • 1 apple

Iced coffee overnight oats: preparation

  • The day before, peel the apple and cut it into small pieces. Pour the pieces into a bowl, add a trickle of water, and heat it for 2-3 minutes in the microwave.

  • Once the apple pieces are ready, save 1/3 and mix the rest with the other ingredients but the yogurt.

  • Stir, stir, stir.

  • Top it all with the skyr & the rest of the apple.

  • Save for a night.

  • Take a photo, tag me, and enjoy.
