About me

Hello, I'm Mathilde!

As a young woman in my late twenties (or rather a soon-to-be young thirty-year-old), I love traveling, getting lost in nature, spending evenings by the fire, watching sunsets, and, of course, enjoying good food.

Since September 2023, I have been a certified food advisor. I received my certification from the Centre de Formation à Distance Bruxelles Wallonie. However, this is not my main job. From Monday to Friday, I work as the Marketing & Communication Manager for a Climate-Tech start-up based in Brussels.

As you can understand, the environment and ecology are subjects that are very important to me. This is why I constantly strive to offer local, organic, and mainly vegetarian recipes while promoting ethical, local, and responsible brands.

Before transforming this website into a commercial showcase (let’s call a spade a spade), Live My Way was a blog. I started this blog in 2019 during my trip to Vancouver. The initial goal was to share my adventure. Gradually, the blog evolved with me until it became entirely dedicated to nutrition and well-being. My articles are, of course, still available, and I will continue to update this section because I love storytelling and sharing.

Why nutrition? In 2012, I suffered from eating disorders (ED). What started as a difficult year turned into a decade of struggle and suffering. One never fully recovers from EDs, and it is a period of my life that I am not proud of. However, over time, I have learned to speak more openly about it.

As dark as that period was, it also shaped the person I am today. My interest in nutrition helped me understand that food is not my enemy, quite the contrary! I learned that being a foodie is not a flaw and that every food has its importance.

Nutrition helped me overcome my EDs. I wish no one has to experience this. Yet, in Belgium, 4 to 6% of the population suffers from EDs during their lifetime. My ambition is to educate minds, fight against these diseases, and help you take care of yourself in a healthy, conscious, and compassionate way.
