Easy Speculoos recipe

Morning friends,

Promises are meant to be kept, so here is "my" delicious speculoos recipe. To be frank, this is not my recipe, this is the reason why I called it "Les speculoos de Véro" on Instagram.

This recipe is very delicious, handy for cocooning moments or sugar cravings, and quite easy to prepare.

Level: very easy

Time: 25h

  • 20 min preparation,

  • 24h rest,

  • 15 min baking.

Ingredients needed (for 30 speculoos)

  • 750 gr of flour,

  • 500 gr of brown sugar,

  • 375 gr of unsalted butter,

  • 3 eggs,

  • 1 tbsp of sodium bicarbonate,

  • 1/2 tsp of spices for speculoos (or 4 spices),

  • 1/2 tsp of cinnamon,

  • A bit of shredded almond for the topping.

How to prepare your speculoos

Mix all the dry ingredients.

Add the butter but not melt (soft) and the eggs pre-mixed in a bowl.

Then, mix the dough with your hands to a soft & uniform texture.

Form 3 rolls with your hands and save them in plastic foil in the fridge for 24h.

Once ready, cut your rolls in 1-cm slices, display your slices on an oven tray, add the shredded almonds, and let it bake for 15 min at 180 degrees.
